FUNDING UPDATE: Purchase Agreement Negotiations

Your swell of messages showing widespread support for this project made a difference in today’s meeting with the city.

A small group of EPNI representatives, as well as community leaders from East Phillips and Little Earth, had a short meeting with the city office of Community Planning and Economic Development (CPED) to repeat that:
- EPNI has the plans, partners and momentum needed to continue building our community’s vision for healing, economic opportunity, and resiliency at the Roof Depot site
- The $5.7 million pledged by the State Legislature, which was unfortunately lost due to federal funding cuts, should not become the burden East Phillips and Little Earth

We were assured that the city will not terminate EPNI’s purchase agreement on July 1st, but will continue to negotiate with EPNI in the coming weeks to find a fair solution.

We will share more details as this negotiation continues. But for now, we just wanted to thank you for continuing to fight for the just and vibrant future that Minneapolis deserves. If you haven't called or emailed yet, you can use this form to do so!
